"I just wanted to let you know what a fantastic day the students, teachers and I had yesterday with Cameron's visit.  He had all the kids enthused by his stories and his simplicity of his development of the Stroogle character.  His activities were well received by all and even the reluctant students were writing some amazing pieces using his ideas and inspirations. We really look forward to having him back again next year. Thankyou for all of your assistance throughout and please let us know when bookings start for next year as we definitely want to have him back!"

"Hi Jenny, I hope Cameron enjoyed his day at West.  We were really thrilled with the experience that he was able to give our kids.  His generous attitude towards sharing his time, talent and resources is very much appreciated.  I am attending a School Library Association of Queensland meeting this afternoon  and a Library Network meeting next week with the intention of passing on my very positive praise for his work. "Thank you for helping organise Cameron’s visit. Our students loved his presentation and many parents took the time to say how much their children talked about the visit at home! I will certainly recommend him as a visiting author to any schools in our area."

"Thankyou so much for organising Cameron's visit.  The children were absolutely enthralled throughout the entire visit, and one of our most wriggly boys sat with his mouth open in wonder!  Cameron really has a lovely rapport with the kids. Thanks again."

"I just wanted to say a big thank you for such a great day when Cameron visited Wellington Christian School. The students are still talking about the visit. My K-2 class loved the workshop with Cameron and love the Stroogle books. Every time I get them out to read I hear their enthusiasm. My daughter, in Year 6, went to the extension workshop with Cameron. She has a real passion for writing and wants to be an author. Cameron not only have her guidance and direction about her stories but inspired her even more. I can hardly get her to stop writing now!

On the day of the visit I had two student teachers with me in my class, both were very impressed and asked about the books, workshops and website. So thank you once again for such a great day."

"It was a great experience for the students.  After Cameron showed the Yr 4 and 5 classes how to draw interesting animals, for weeks that followed, students were trying their own. The books were a great success and are always popular for borrowing each week - can never find any on the shelves. I would recommend Cameron for any workshop from Prep to Yr Seven. Cameron kept their interest for the whole session."

"I just wanted to thank you for a fantastic author visit on Monday.  The pre-visit preparations were efficient, friendly and professional. It was because of this attention to detail that the visit went so smoothly and was such a huge success.

The teachers and I were very impressed with how Cameron engaged all the students and catered his presentations perfectly for the various age levels.  The children thoroughly enjoyed the workshops and remained engaged for the full session.  It was a wonderful way to encourage the enjoyment of reading, picture books and drawing.

The post-visit book signing was also exceptional.  You now have many happy Stroogle fans at Our Lady of Mt Carmel and we certainly intend a repeat performance either this year or early next year."

Tracey Halstead
Teacher Librarian
Our Lady of Mt Carmel, QLD

"We have had Cameron visit our school on a number of occasions and they have been a fantastic experience every time. He offers a variety of workshop options. Cameron's flexibility in his presentations means that his programme can be tailored to your specific needs which means great relevance to school/class curriculum priorities. His rapport with students is fantastic! Our students still talk about Cameron's lunchtime handball competitions and his books just will not stay on the shelf in our library. Cameron's ability to bring out the creative side of everyone, even those of us who feel we don't have a creative bone in our bodies, has been reflected in the work of our students. Cameron inspires students to imagine, explore and believe in themselves."

"Our students loved Cameron's visit. I was in the P/1/2 class and his audience was enraptured. Apparently the Year 6/7 boys, who are generally "too cool" for anything , were hanging on his every word. The workshops were enjoyed by all students. I was interested to see his original art works. I am extremely glad we participated in the tour!"

"A few days before Dr Cameron Stelzer arrived at our school we brainstormed what we thought his book The Stroogle's New Home was about. Then we read the story. This story was shared at a perfect time because our class is talking about our local environment and how we can reuse, reduce and recycle. When Cameron arrived we got to create our own recycled shoe cars from the story! We all had a great time and enjoyed making decisions for ourselves about how each car would look. We loved our time with Cameron and would recommend a visit to any school.”

“Last week Dr Cameron Stelzer, the inventor of the Stroogle, came to our school. It was amazing! Dr Stelzer showed me and the whole school the adventures of Stroogle. He even taught us how to make our own story. I got to make two stories! It was fun having him at our school and it was a great experience. It made me want to be a writer myself.”

Jacob Ehlefeldt, Stage 3 Student

"I have always found that Cameron has an excellent rapport with the children and parents. The workshops are always well run and well planned and they are always popular at our libraries."
