15. full day workshop

Recommended Group: Year 3 - 7
Cameron can work with one class or a group of selected students for a one day workshop on creating a book. Combining many of the individual activities on offer, this session will take students through the important steps in producing a book. At the end of the session students will have:
- Experienced how an author and illustrator creates an illustrated book
- Developed their own storyboard
- Planned the sequence of events for their story
- Invented and drawn their main characters
- Designed and produced a book cover illustration
- Commenced/ completed their short story draft.
Time: A whole school day is required.
Maximum Size: 30 students.
Materials Required: exercise books, sketchbooks or paper, pencils and erasers, coloured pencils, rulers, watercolour paint (optional), library books with photos of animals and people to assist in the creation of characters.

Technology (optional): The PowerPoint ‘How a Book is Made’ has some slides relevant to this activity. A data projector and computer would be required.
Preparation: Introduce students to The Stroogle Sails the Seven Seas and any other Stroogle books.
